Hi, my name is Håvard. Nice to meet you!

I’m an associate professor of psychometrics and personality psychology at the Department of Psychology, Norwegian University of Science and Technology. My research interests are psychometrics (particularly related to personality tests), psychological aspects of technology use (especially AI!) and statistics.

I teach statistics and quantitative research methods at various levels as well as personality psychology. From January of 2024 until July of 2025 I am the head of the master’s study programme at our department. I also lead the R Code Club, an effort to foster an active community of R aficionados among colleagues. I am involved in several innovative teaching projects, like training clinical psychology students with VR headsets and developing a board game based on the Five Factor Model of personality.

I love R, especially using to automate boring tasks which inevitably end up taking longer than just doing it manually. It is also particularly suited for open science, which I am trying to get more into.

This is Trondheim, the city I live in. It can be quite nice during winter.
